Kinword

With your recorded consent, Kinword clones your voice and places a surprise drill call to the relatives you enrol. Then it teaches the family a safe word, so a real scam call falls flat.

How it works

With your consent, we clone your voice and call your mum, so real voice scams fail.

Voice-clone scams now fake a loved one in crisis to get a ransom. Kinword clones your voice with your consent, places drill calls to the relatives you enrol, and sets up a family safe word. If a real ‘kidnap’ call comes, one tap checks on the person and gets an answer in about two minutes.

  1. Step 01

You record consent and a voice sample

You record your own consent and a short sample, then choose up to four relatives. Nobody else can be cloned, and nobody else is called.

  2. Step 02

We place a surprise drill call

A scheduled call in your cloned voice. It never asks for money and never mentions injury or death, and every relative gets a debrief text after.

  3. Step 03

The family learns the safe word

Each response is scored, the safe word is set up, and a check button pings the person, their school or office, and their shared location.

Why now

The world just changed.

What changed, and where it was reported.

  1. The FBI’s 2025 Internet Crime Report tracked AI-related fraud as its own category for the first time: 22,364 complaints and about $893.3M in losses. A California mother paid a fake cartel-kidnap ransom.

    NBC Palm Springs
  2. A SOUPS study of 37 older adults found they rely on trusted relatives to spot scams, and that younger family members can teach them how to verify a caller.

    arXiv
  3. Only a hackathon demo and a phishing-only family drill exist. No commercial voice-drill service for families was found.

What a person does

You record your own consent and voice sample, and you choose who is called. On our side, a person signs the voice-provider terms and has the calling rules checked once against robocall and call-recording laws.

Edgy, on purpose. Here’s the line we don’t cross.

Cloning a voice is legal with that person’s recorded consent, and so is calling relatives the buyer enrolled. Kinword never clones a voice without consent, never calls anyone who is not enrolled, and no drill ever asks for money.

Questions

Won’t a drill frighten my mum?

Drills are capped in intensity and never mention injury or death. You can keep anyone on an opt-out list, and every call ends with a debrief, so the lesson stays and the fright does not.

Can I clone someone else’s voice?

No. The voice owner records their own consent, and drills go only to the relatives the buyer enrolled. No consent, no clone.

What if a real scam call comes?

Ask for the safe word. Then tap the check button: it calls and texts the person, their school or office, and asks for shared location, with an answer in about two minutes.
